PRINCIPAL'S WELCOME

Welcome to Toogoolawa School, a truly special learning community for boys from Years 4 to 10 who have disengaged from mainstream education. I believe that every young person carries within them a shining spirit, an inner wisdom that can sometimes become hidden beneath life’s challenges. At Toogoolawa, we help our students reconnect with that light and begin a journey of self discovery, awareness, and growth.

Our mission is to provide high quality education through Values Based Education, or Educare. Educare is founded on three guiding principles: recognising the innate goodness and wisdom within ourselves and others; nurturing the development of character through Love, Peace, and Truth, which naturally inspires Right Conduct and Non-Violence; and journeying towards the best version of ourselves so that each person can realise their full potential.

I am deeply proud of our dedicated teachers, mentors, parents, and volunteers who create a caring environment that truly lives the five Human Values of Love, Peace, Truth, Right Conduct, and Non-Violence. These values are woven into every aspect of school life: our curriculum, our relationships, and the way we speak and act each day. Together, we aim to model the very qualities we seek to nurture in our students.

At Toogoolawa, we are committed to a curriculum that prioritises character development while remaining aligned with the national curriculum. It is a privilege to lead a school where transformation is not only possible but expected, where every boy is supported to believe in himself, to discover his true potential, and to bring more love, peace, and joy into the world.
