Year 10 Graduation Day!

Today our Year 10 young men stood together with a calm sense of pride, marking a moment they have earned through perseverance and strong heart.

Families, staff and students shared stories of steady progress, meaningful relationships and the inner strength each young man has uncovered along the way. Graduation carries a deep meaning, as we honoured their final steps with us and the confidence they take into the world beyond our gates.

A warm thank you to all our guests and supporters who helped make today so special. Your presence, care and encouragement surrounded our young men with a sense of belonging that they will carry with them as they leave our school and begin the next chapter of their lives.

A gentle sense of wonder filled our school today.

Our students spent the morning with a visiting Wildlife Ranger, learning about native animals and the role they play in caring for our shared environment. Each boy had the chance to meet the animals up close, hold them safely and listen to the stories behind their behaviours and habitats. The session was engaging, calm and filled with moments of curiosity and quiet excitement.

Experiences like this help our young men connect with the natural world and deepen their respect for all living creatures. It is another reminder that learning grows strongest when it is grounded in care, attentiveness and a spirit of gratitude.

One of our students recently found an injured magpie on school grounds and gently took it under their care, making sure it was safe and supported until help could arrive.

These small acts remind us that compassion and responsibility can be just as powerful as any lesson. When we care for those around us, we show the kind of character that truly matters.

Today our team took part in a professional development session with the AFL - Australian Football League and Gold Coast SUNS, diving into programs and resources designed to support young people through sport, teamwork, and positive connection. The session focused on practical ways to engage our young people, build resilience, and strengthen their sense of belonging through structured activities.

Beyond the learning, it was also about building partnerships that align with our values and bring lasting opportunities into our school. A great day of ideas, energy, and purpose.

Huge congratulations to our HPE teacher Victor on his selection to represent Australia for the Triathlon World Championship Finals!

Through hard work, discipline, and dedication, Victor continues to set an example of what it means to push yourself and stay committed to your goals. He is a strong role model for our boys, both in and out of the classroom.

We are 100 percent behind him and wish him all the very best as he prepares to take on the world. Go Victor, Go AusTriathlon!

They are learning how to use different brush strokes mix colours and add depth through shading. Each piece becomes a chance to experiment express and grow.

Year 10 students had the opportunity to visit DT Infrastructure for a site tour that offered a real world look into the infrastructure industry and the many roles that help bring major projects to life.

They heard firsthand from professionals in the field, asked great questions, and walked away with a stronger understanding of what a future in this space could look like.

And in a surprise moment, they met former world champion boxer and rugby league player Anthony Mundine, who shared a few words and left a strong impression.

At the centre of that vision is our commitment to Values Based Education, guided by the five values of Love, Peace, Truth, Nonviolence and Right Conduct.

Hearing the story of Toogoolawa from those who lived it reminded us of what makes this place unique and why the work we do matters so deeply.

This incredible painting was gifted to our school by Ben, one of our talented Support Staff, and is titled 'Heart of Toogoolawa'. It beautifully captures the spirit and essence of what makes our school special.

At its centre is a heart surrounded by people. Each one represents one of our five core values: Love, Peace, Truth, Nonviolence, and Right Conduct. These values flow through the colours and patterns across the canvas.

The stars and meeting places remind us that Toogoolawa is a guiding light, offering direction and hope during dark times. Each value connects with the others, just as we connect and grow together.

Along the bottom are seven meeting places representing each of our classes: Satya, Ahimsa, Dharma, Prema, Sangha, Shanti, and Jnana. All are encircled by the strength and presence of our values.

No issue is too big or too small. Whether it is a student needing support, a team member needing advice, or something unexpected happening on the day, Leelah is there with calm, clear thinking and unwavering care.

She leads with heart and purpose, always putting others first. We are lucky to have her.
